Huge gains for Driffield in ERYC Capital Budget

Driffield East Riding Councillors, Fraser, Owen and Temple were delighted at the decisions taken on the Councils Capital Programme of Works agreed at todays full Council Meeting, 19th February 2004.
Cllr Jonathan Owen stated, Over £7 million has been directly allocated to projects in Driffield, including the Sports Centre Development and Driffield School extension. In addition Driffield will benefit from a host of Council-wide initiatives to improve housing standards and road improvements to name but a few.
Cllr Symon Fraser added, The Council has embarked on a very ambitious Capital Programme exceeding £80 million and Driffields share is a hug chunk of that budget.
Cllr Felicity Temple commented, We are so pleased that Driffield and Rural Ward has come out of this progress so well, particularly with regard to the swimming pool and other youth provision projects. It makes the efforts we put in as local representatives so worthwhile."
