Calling residents of Manorfield Avenue & Road, Driffield

Here is the text of an open letter we three have sent to all residents of Manorfield Avenue and Manorfield Road, following concerns regarding speeding in the area.

" A Manorfield Avenue resident recently wrote to us with concerns for safety on your streets. We fully understand the problems you have with traffic and share the concerns you have for the safety of children as they come to and from Driffield School and Driffield Junior School.

But we would not want to see an unwanted traffic calming solution imposed on you.   What do you think would be the best way to tackle the problem?

Give some thought to how you think the problem could be solved and let us have your views.  Armed with your ideas we will then press for action from the East Riding Highways Authority to tackle the issue.

Below are some pictures of various traffic calming measures which have been installed at various locations.  They may offer some ideas as to what could be done in your area to improve safety both for pedestrians, residents and motorists.

Let us have your views.  The pictures are numbered and titled.  If you think something like one of these solutions would help, fill in your name and address below along with any additional comment you wish to make, and return it to us at the Conservative Group Office, County Hall, Beverley, HU17 9BA by April 25th.  We will then keep you informed."

Naturally anyone is welcome to send their comments, you can even do this by e-mail to the Conservative.Group@eastriding.gov.uk or write to us using the above address.  The photos we showed are below
