Little Driffield Street Surgery Update

Many issues were raised by residents this evening, amongst which are the speed and size of the traffic down Church Lane to the Industrial Estate, the dead Cherry Tree by the pond, the cleanliness of the street signs and the roads - about most of which we have written letters to the East Riding this evening, for delivery to the relevant officers tomorrow.

One of the more thorny problems concerned the lighting in the village.  We explained that this had originally been on this year's schedule but had been "bumped" by what appeared to be a more needy area, but that Little Driffield would be back on the list for the coming year for upgrading of the columns.

The other main issue raised was the lack of a Play Park.  The ladies on the Committee informed us that the Town Council had earmarked £3000 in their reserves to do something about it, but that was years ago and the money is still sitting there.  The ladies have identified some land and a letter is on its way to the relevant department asking for a meeting to discuss the proposition - we will keep you informed.
