Successful Street Surgery at Washington Street

The three of us, your Conservative Councillors for Driffield and Rural, started a series of Driffield Street Surgeries last week when we visited homes on Washington Street.

We delivered leaflets to all Washington Street residents last weekend and followed this up with visits to anyone who wanted to discuss problems or concerns.

Concerns raised included, access problems to a shower facility, antisocial behaviour by a small minority of people using the street as a shortcut to the town and the problem of crows and rooks fouling gardens and footways with droppings and debris from high up nests in some of the surrounding trees. Concerns were also raised about the lack of a designated footway area for pedestrians on Washington Street itself.

Our team of Councillors plan to continue the Street Surgeries throughout the summer.
