Lockwood St Appeal decision welcomed by Cllr Barbara Hall
Driffiel ERYC Councillors' relief on appeal decision.
The decision to dismiss the planning appeal relating to proposals for eight apartments on land to the rear of 22, 23 & 23a Middle Street South has just been published. This means that the refusal decision from the East Riding of Yorkshire Council has been upheld at the appeal and this development cannot now go ahead.
East Riding Councillor Barbara Hall, who sits on the ERYC Area Planning Committee remarked, I am delighted that the Planning Inspector has backed the opinion of the Planning Committee. My view always was that the apartments were far too crowded and that the developers were trying to shoe-horn far too much on to a very constrained site to the detriment of the residents who already live in a very busy part of Driffield. The dismissal of the appeal is a good result for Lockwood street residents.
