Driffield Tesco - Larger car park proposed
ERYC Councillors welcome new proposals to increase the size of the car park serving the proposed new Tesco store.
Proposals to develop land behind Middle Street South as additional car parking for the proposed replacement Tesco store are to be considered by the ERYC Planning Committee. The proposals offer additional car parking to serve Tescos planned new store.
Driffield & Rural ERYC Councillor Symon Fraser commented, It is deeply frustrating to see that the new supermarket proposals are taking so long to come into being, never the less I welcome these new additional parking spaces, they will help to provide town centre parking to serve both the proposed new store and of course the other shops and services provided in the town centre.
Fellow East Riding Councillor Barbara Hall remarked, It really is time that these various developers who say they want to bring new shops to Driffield got on with delivering their proposals to us. The whole town is immensely frustrated, the additional parking will be useful and is welcomed.
East Riding Councillor Felicity Temple added, I remain a firm supporter of the proposals to replace the Tesco store. The increased car parking space will further enhance the ability of this shop to support Driffield and the surrounding villages and bring many much needed jobs to our town.
