PCT Consultation letter "Lost in the System"

Driffield's East Riding of Yorkshire Councillors have expressed dismay and disappointment that a letter relating to the response to the consultation carefully drawn up by the Councillors Temple and Fraser along with both Doctors Surgeries, the Driffield Hospital Defence League and the League of Friends would appear to have been lost in the system by the PCT.

Councillor Barbara Hall who is also the Chair of the Driffield Hospital Defence League commented, " I am shocked and appalled that the PCT tell us they have lost a vital letter relating to the recent consultation process. Dr Wigglesworth drew up a detailed and comprehensive plan for the future of our Alfred Bean Hospital and this was then added to by Felicity and Symon and given the full endorsement of the Defence League and the League of Friends. We offered to meet the PCT to discuss the proposals and they now say they lost the letter. What other responses have also conveniently been lost? We were worried that we had not heard from the PCT and so in early May Dr Wigglesworth wrote again to reinforce the offer of a meeting.  They now tell us that they cannot meet with us untilJune." Councillor Hall added " In my view the unreliability of the whole consultation process has been highlighted by this lost letter.  The letter was hand delivered to the PCT by Councillor Felicity Temple and they now tell us that it has slipped through the system, I seriously question the competence of the process."
