Residents' Meeting re Bridlington Road Garage Application

As promised we have arranged a meeting for residents with Mr Jonathan Ashworth the “Planning Case Officer” for the proposed development of apartments on the site of “Nicholson’s Garage”.

This meeting has been arranged for 6:00pm of Tuesday 15th May at the Conference Room at the West Annexe (old FE block) Driffield School. This is the first school building which you come to as you enter the school site from Manorfield Avenue. If you are interested in this application you are very welcome to attend. Enter through the main doors and then go down to the far end of the corridor. We will be there with Mr Ashworth from about 5:50 to 7:00pm to discuss the proposals and the process with you.

Currently the plans are due to be considered at the May 21st meeting of the Eastern Area Planning Committee.  The officer recommendation on the proposals is for refusal.   In view of residents’ concerns, Cllr Felicity Temple and Cllr Symon Fraser will speak on your behalf as your Ward Councillors. We will be speaking in support of the planning officer’s recommendation, to refuse the proposals.

Councillor Barbara Hall sits on this Planning committee and will be present at the meeting on Wednesday to hear your views.

We look forward to meeting you at the Driffield School meeting on Tuesday evening, (the meeting will close promptly at 7:00pm).
