Lockwood Street Plans - new proposals

Confirmation has just been received that new revised proposals for a Health centre and residential development on land to the rear of Lockwood Street have been validated by ERYC planning department.

The new proposals show significant change which hopefully will be more acceptable to nearby residents.  The new proposals show a Health Centre, along with parking, sited to the South East of the site, backing on to Middle Street South, and including pedestrian access from the main street.

The residential portion of the development now lies to the North West of the site with a shared vehicular access from the existing Lockwood Street entrance.

Councillor Symon Fraser commented, “We have been expecting these plans for some time.  It is good that the developers have now brought these proposals forward.  We would hope that we will be able to arrange an information evening at the Masonic Lodge, as we did before, so that residents can discuss the proposals with planners.   We would hope to hold this meeting in early May.  The proposals are not expected to go to the East Riding of Yorkshire Planning Committee until end of May at the earliest.”

Councillor Felicity Temple added, “In the meantime we will be distributing more detailed information to all nearby residents to keep them up to date.   The plans are available from Westgarth or on-line. There is also a set of plans at my house, 3 Woldholme Avenue for any residents who wish to view (by appointment please on 240179) in the evening.”
