Residents win first round of Newland Ave & Greenways Battle
At today's Full Planning meeting, elected members threw out the three controversial proposals by Grangevale Homes of Leeds. Agreeing with the officers' recommendation to refuse the developments in their present form, they also urged the developers to liaise with ward members and residents when they resubmit their plans.
Cllr Jonathan Owen said; "This is only round one. We must ensure that whatever else is proposed is suitable for the areas."
Cllr Symon Fraser agreed: "We welcome any approach from the developers to consult with local people. The strength of feeling in these areas of the town is high. We will continue to represent the residents and ensure we move forward in a positive way but we won't be threatened."
